Production Model

First Lecture : Production Model

Date of Lecture : 13th August 2008

What is production?

I believe production is a process of producing something, be it something as small as a MP3 player or a skyscraper.

There are six elements in production model which are

-          Intention – You must want to do something

-          Act – Plan your work, and work your plan

-          Product – Something that is being produced

-          Actor – A person or group that intends to produce something

-          Rule – The do’s and don’ts – but rules are meant to be broken, right?

-          Site – The location of the production, whether visually or real

For us to have intentions, we must have knowledge. Without knowledge, what are we thinking of doing is like building castles in the air. Knowledge, however, is a PRODUCT by the ACT which involves ACTOR. In order to gather knowledge, ACTOR must LISTEN, SEE and UNDERSTAND with his heart and put it in his head. All in all, we must know what we are intending to do, plan our work and work our plan.

Next question that is shot to us was,

WHERE DO HUMANS COME FROM?

Did we evolve from Monkeys?

Is Adam our ancestor?

Did we come from rocks?

For those who have read the Bible, they may believe that we are a product of Adam and Eve, with another story behind it.

Michelangelo's Creation of Adam, from the Sistine Chapel

Many believe that we evolved from monkeys, with our tails hidden.

All these believes show that we HUMANS are able to think. Some people just love asking WHY? Why this, why that? Quoting René Decartes, “Cogito ergo sum,” which means “I think, therefore I am”

We were introduced to several “-isms” by CikWan.

Altruism – There’s no right nor wrong

Cynism – Everything is wrong

Relativism – Everything is right

Truth-seekerism – We must look for the truth

Taosime – The truth need not be looked for. Just eliminate the false and take the rest

Humans are brought up differently. Some have the “tidak apa” attitude who only care whatever that involves them directly, some have the “kaypo” attitude who wants to know the juiciest gossip around.

I believe rumours need to be proven before being further spread. If it’s not, I hope it will just stop right there but very often, rumours are just too entertaining to just stop spreading.

If we do not have people who are curious, we wouldn’t know the Earth is spherical nor there’s another place above the clouds.

If you ask me, what do I believe in? What is my ism? I cannot give you a definite answer. It’s pretty subjective to me as I believe what I want to believe in.
